NKOTB is Back
Who doesn’t know New Kids On The Block, a boy band from Boston, Massachusetts, USA? For ages, their fans have had no idea where the group has been or how Jonathan Knight, Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, and Joey McIntyre have been. But out of the blue, the group declared to have reunion and make new album in April this year. They also plan to organize world tour for their album.
Many music observers doubt the quality of their reunion for they have been absent for so long. Their ages now are at average 38 years. Danny, Joey and Jordan pursue their solo career, while Donnie is focusing more on his acting career in Hollywood. The other, Jonathan, is busy with his new business in real estate industry. According to some people, such a reunion is actually on to sell nostalgic memory to their fans.
That’s why NKOTB seem to realize such an impression. So, they avoid it by confirming that one reason why they want to hold reunion is to create a new music genre. In their album The Block released last September 2, they tried hard to erase the track of their previous producer Maurice Starr by collaborating with big names in hip-hop and R & B world like producer Tim “Timbaland” Mosley, rapper Ne-Yo and Akon, and vocal groups Pussycat Dolls and New Edition.
In the USA, their new album has got positive response from music lovers and media and directly hit the second place in Billboard Top 200 chart, and even the first in the category of pop. In their www.nkotb.com, they wrote that their lux edition album grabs first place in iTunes Album Pop Charts. They start touring around the world by September 18 from Toronto, Canada.
